Under the instruction of the more senior leaders, the boys were divided into teams of four, each of which took control of the qualifying group stages of the tournament. They undertook the roles of referee, assistant referee and scorer and carried out their duties in an exemplary fashion, growing in confidence as the event progressed.
Without their assistance the event would be extremely difficult to stage. Primary school staff were very grateful that they were able to concentrate on the management of their sides, whilst parents and other spectators in the large crowd passed many complimentary comments.
Many thanks go to the boys who have developed their refereeing skills and will hopefully put these to good effect in future events as they add to their Leadership passport.
The leaders were:
Josh Clarke, Sam Nickson, Josh Bourne, Leon Brookes, Luke Glossop, Thomas Crook, Niall Cahill, Tommy Ryan, Charlie Yanez, Joe Scott, Callum McDonald & Ethan Bannister.
