PALs from Ferring got the Angmering Great Cluster Run 2014 underway when they organised nearly every child in the school to take part in the annual running challenge. The aim is to get as many children in the cluster group as possible to compete for their school against others of a similar age in a team shuttle running challenge. Ferring managed to get 91% of their school taking part and produced some scintillating results.
Reception class managed to run 3.47 km in their allotted time, Year 1 ran 4.16 km, Year 2 ran 5 km, Year 3 ran 7.83 km, Year 4 ran 7.7 km, Year 5 ran 12.73 km and Year 6 ran 15.05 km. A total of an outstanding 55.94 kilometres as a school.
The average distance run per year group will be compared once all schools have completed their Great Cluster Run to discover who are the overall winners.
The PALs did a fantastic job and Miss Bennett was very proud of her leaders, who each took turns at being the chief organiser, as well as setting the event up, scoring, timing and officiating.
